THE ELECTRONIC GOVERNANCE AGENCY REPRESENTED AT MOLDOVA YOUTH FORUM
The Electronic Governance Agency (EGA) took part in the Moldova Youth Forum, a benchmark event dedicated to the young people in the Republic of Moldova held in Comrat between 30 June and 2 July 2023.
Olga Tumuruc, the Director of EGA, joined the discussion panel “Navigating the Digital Age: Opportunities and Challenges for Young People”, together with Dumitru Alaiba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitization, Anatolie Topala, Minister of Education and Research, Vitalie Esanu, founder of & CTO at the startup Soofragio, and Livia Turcanu, technology consultant at Future Technologies Activity.
The topics about the impact of technology and digital age on young people and how they can make full use of them to their advantage raised the interest of the participants and the questions-and-answers session brought to the fore the importance of integrating technology in delivery of public services to make them more accessible and efficient.
The participants learned about the progress made by Moldova in modernization of public services with the support of the development partners, such as the World Bank Group, and about the benefits of this transformation for youth, including easier access to information and online services, simplified and less time consuming administrative procedures, more efficient interaction with the public institutions.
In this context, Olga Tumuruc spoke about the latest news and future prospects, with a focus on the latest technology trends and their impact on the public services intended for young people. In that respect, Mrs. Tumuruc mentioned the use of AI and the upcoming launch of EVO app in Moldova, expected to improve even more the experience of users of public services.
The Director of EGA also spoke about the initiatives related to the digital public services for youth already implemented by the Moldovan authorities, such as the National Program “Cultural Voucher” and digitization of education documents that are available on the MCabinet portal and encouraged the cooperation and partnerships between various stakeholders in order to communicate and promote this project for the benefit of the young people, in particular, and the national culture, in general.
The participation of the Electronic Governance Agency in the Moldova Youth Forum was a good opportunity to strengthen the constructive dialogue between the government institutions and the young people in Moldova on the digitization of public services and to share knowledge and experiences on future prospects in this field. EGA remains committed to supporting development and innovation in Moldova and is open to future opportunities for cooperation and exchanges for the benefit of people of all ages.
