2024-09-16 11:00

Moldovan rural citizens benefit from easier access to public services, thanks to the creation of 100 Unified Centers for the Provision of Public Services (CUPS) across the country, which in two and a half years of activity have facilitated 60 748 requests for public services.

Among the most requested public services provided through the CUPSs are:

  • Payment of taxes and fees
  • Applications for meter help
  • Applications for single and monthly allowance
  • Applications for pension review
  • Public Service Agency appointment services
  • Obtaining certificates on the value of real estate

CUPS have thus achieved their objective of bringing essential public services closer to rural communities and helping to simplify and streamline access to public administration.

Thanks to CUPS, citizens can access quality public services directly from their locality, without having to travel to large cities or remote administrative centers. By opening these centers, citizens in Moldovan villages have benefited from a significant improvement in access to public services, reducing the time, financial resources and effort required to obtain the documents or assistance they need. In 2024 alone, beneficiaries' savings on transportation totaled 350 thousand lei.

At the National Conference “Local Digitalization: innovation and easy access to e-services”, the e- Governance Agency awarded the most deserving 18 CUPS specialists from 16 Unified Centers with mention diplomas in high appreciation for their outstanding merits, prodigious work and outstanding results in promoting digital transformation in rural communities.
