DEEPTECHGIGAHACK BRINGS NEW DIGITAL EGOV SOLUTIONS
Deeptech GigaHack, the country's biggest two-day marathon of digital solutions and applications held on 9 and 10 September 2023 at Digital Park, brought together over 200 technology enthusiasts around digital transformation ideas and concepts in various fields.
The Electronic Governance Agency (EGA), as a partner of the event, supported the teams competing for the award in the GovTech category, which refers to the implementation of new digital solutions leading to modernization of public services. EGA’s experts Andrei Prisacar, deputy director, Artur Reaboi, chief architect, and Valeriu Poia, project manager, participated in the Hackathon as mentors, judges and supervisors, guiding and consulting the teams, providing them technical and professional assistance during the competition, as well as objective judging.
Byte Hackers, 7301, busGO, Kodeson and GovernMental Hackswere the five teams that competed in the GovTech category. They worked intensively on an AI-based assistant that will help citizens receive information about the government public services.
According to the jury, the best GovTech solution was the one developed by the 7301 team. The solution is called "Ask Dorin" and is a conversational interface that allows people to ask questions about government services, while the chat bot Dorin answers based on the information available on servicii.gov.md.
DeepTech GigaHack is organized by Technovator and Digital Park, with the support of the Technologies of the Future in Moldova Project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Governments of Sweden and Great Britain, and is an opportunity for IT professionals, technology enthusiasts and business people to experiment, innovate, cooperate and create solutions to the challenges defined by organizers.
