EGA supports initiatives which promote digital safety
On February 11, 2025, the Electronic Governance Agency (EGA) reaffirmed its institutional commitment to promoting a safe and accessible digital environment at the Cybersecurity Essay Contest Awards Gala "Be Safe Online!".
As a partner of this event, AGE presented gifts to the winners, emphasizing the importance of digital education and responsible use of electronic platforms and services.
In this context, Nicoleta Colomeeț, the director of EGA, stated: "The Electronic Governance Agency plays an important role in the digital transformation of the Republic of Moldova in a safe and responsible manner. It is essential to contribute to the formation of a generation aware of cyber risks and the need to adopt responsible behaviors online. Our vision is a 100% digital future, where citizens are digitally accompanied from birth to old age, with proactive services and smart notifications that anticipate their needs and simplify their lives. We create platforms and tools to offer public services at the fingertips of every citizen, while ensuring their safety. In this context, we support the development of young people's digital skills, so they can easily and effortlessly access essential information and services."
Organized for the first time in Chișinău, the "Be Safe Online!" Essay Contest brought together over 80 participants, teenagers and young people aged 13 to 35, challenging them to express their ideas on the importance of digital security through original essays. The contest aimed to raise awareness of cyber risks and promote responsible, ethical, and non-violent behavior in the digital environment.
The event was organized by the "B. P. Hasdeu" Municipal Library and the "Friends of the Library" Association, with the support of partners: the Estonian Academy of Electronic Governance, the Electronic Governance Agency, and Moldcell. The winners were rewarded with prizes from the event organizers and partners, in three distinct categories:
- Technology Enthusiasts – young people and adults who love digital innovations and want to share their views on online safety;
- Early Career Professionals – young adults working in various fields who are interested in raising awareness about the importance of internet safety
- Digital Influencers – journalists, online activists, and individuals actively involved in promoting online safety.
The "Be Safe Online!" contest was carried out with the financial support of the "Moldova Cybersecurity Rapid Assistance 2.0" project, funded by the European Union.
