Partnership to support IT performance
The most meritorious participants of the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI 2024), which took place from August 16-22, 2024, in Chisinau, were awarded with medals and honorable mentions.
The winners of the 8th edition of the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics were awarded during a festive ceremony attended by Andrei Prisacar, Director of the E-Governance Agency (EGA) and Igor Bercu, Head of the Digital Platforms Directorate of EGA, who is also the Chairman of the Technical Committee of the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics 2024.
This prestigious international competition was held for the first time in the Republic of Moldova and brought together 98 male and female students from 26 European countries, aged up to 16. The problems solved by the participants were developed by a team of current students and former international computer science Olympians.
After several intense days of competitions, during which the participants demonstrated their knowledge and skills, the international jury has chosen the winners. The Olympic Team of the Republic of Moldova won a bronze medal and an honorable mention at EJOI 2024. In total the jury awarded 9 gold medals, 16 silver medals, 30 bronze medals and 9 honorable mentions.
The e-Governance Agency, as a partner of the event, supported the participants by offering prizes and gifts, thus underlining its commitment to support the development of digital competences and the use of technologies.
The computer programming contest - EJOI 2024 - was organized by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation.
