DIGITAL EDUCATION FOR YOUNG GOVERNMENT TRAINEES
A group of around 40 young people, who are completing their professional traineeships in government institutions, attended an information session in the field of electronic governance. The aim is to provide them with new information and skills to use digital technologies and to promote the culture of innovation and efficiency of a modern and efficient public administration.
By familiarizing themselves with the general notions of digital identity, electronic signature, powers of representation, data exchange and interoperability, data protection, access to information from State registers, young people learned about the Government’s priorities in the field of digital transformation, which are the digital governance solutions developed so far, but at the same time how the benefits associated with the use of digital technologies in the public service are promoted.
The information session for the young trainees also included aspects related to the advantages of applying technology in the delivery of public services to reduce bureaucracy, desk crowding, expenses and the time needed to process administrative documents, to finally provide beneficiaries with a more pleasant experience of interaction with public institutions.
Therewith, knowledge of digital government opportunities and the main digital services and platforms is a necessity for those who intend to work in public administration, both for the effective exercise of their responsibilities in the civil service and for increasing transparency and trust in the government sector.
Representatives of the Electronic Governance Agency encouraged participants to actively contribute to the digital transformation process, thus helping to increase the skills and competencies of an administration that meets the needs of a modern and digitally connected society.
Feedback from young people has been positive, welcoming the activities as new, useful and interesting.
This information session presented by experts from the EGA team is held at the initiative of the State Chancellery, within the second edition of the Paid Internships in Public Service Programme, in which more than 40 young people were selected to participate in internships in the President’s Office, the Parliament Secretariat, the State Chancellery, ministries and other public authorities.
