Presenting and promoting digital solutions developed in the Republic of Moldova, aimed at facilitating remote interaction of citizens and entrepreneurs, including those from the diaspora, with public institutions was the aim of public discussions with members of the Moldovan diaspora in Strasbourg, France.  Public discussion on “Promoting Digital Solutions among the Moldovan Diaspora” held on March 15^th, 2024, at the initiative of the Institute for European Policy and Reforms (IEPR), the e-Governance Agency (EGA), the Diaspora Relations Office (DRO) and the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Moldova to the Council of Europe, in collaboration with GIZ Moldova.

Through this initiative, we aimed to highlight the importance of close communication with the diaspora, informing them about the progress made in terms of digitisation and modernisation of services, as well as about the European standards on digital transformation implemented in the Republic of Moldova.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to learn more about e-signature, accessing digital services relevant to the diaspora, main platforms and digital solutions for Moldovan consular activity. It also presented ways in which the diaspora can contribute to promoting the digital transformation of the Republic of Moldova with ideas and expertise.

Key representatives from government and civil society participated in the event moderated by Victor GUZUN, an expert in digitisation policy at IEPR. They discussed with Moldovan citizens from the diaspora who attended the event and established ways for further communication and collaboration. Among them were:
