DIGITAL EDUCATION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE FROM STRĂȘENI AND CUPCINI
Government digital opportunities for young people, such as: direct access to diplomas online, online identity documents, submission of applications for admission to studies by power of attorney created online, Cultural Voucher, and Virtual Personal Cabinet - are just some of the benefits of using technology that has been brought to the attention of pupils and students studying at the Vocational School in Cupcini, Edineț and Strășeni College of Engineering.
Around 80 young people participated in information activities presented by experts from the e-Governance Agency (EGA) team within the Digital Information and Education Programme at the invitation of partners: Austrian Development Agency (ADA), EU4Moldova Programme: Local Communities, funded by the European Union and the governments of Germany, Austria and Poland.
Participants had the opportunity to learn new information about the main digital services and platforms developed by EGA, such as digital identity and signature, powers of attorney, access to online public services via the Public Services Portal, document delivery, general notions about online security and more.
Feedback from young people has been positive, with them seeing the activities as useful and interesting. The success of the two information sessions on April 15th and 17th marks another important step towards extending the Digital Information and Education Programme to rural areas.
This series of sessions is part of our joint efforts to bring digital education to young people in rural communities and to promote a better understanding of government digital opportunities provided by the government. The knowledge gained during the information session can then be systematized by the students together with their teachers, based on information materials produced with the support of the World Bank Group, the strategic partner of e-governance in the Republic of Moldova.
Earlier, within the same partnership, information sessions were organised for the students of Leova Vocational School, College of Veterinary Medicine and Agrarian Economy Brătușeni, Edineț. In addition, information sessions for managers and teachers of these institutions are planned this year.
