THREE SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE PUBLIC SERVICES WERE IDENTIFIED AND AWARDED IN THE UX4GOV DESIGNATHON COMPETITION
The UX4Gov Designathon competition to improve public services has named its winners. More than 70 product designers, UX/UI designers, web designers and graphic designers competed with six public institutions to create user-centric solutions, and three of the best solutions for improving public services were awarded prizes.
So, after presenting solutions to seven challenges, the jury chose the winners:
1st place: Team A - Interface Evolution & User Experience of the MPay (e-Governance Agency) service);
2nd place: Team A - Mobile App Development for Access to Legal Information (Agency for Court Administration);
3rd place: Team B - Digitisation of issuance of probation certificates and probation completion certificates (National Probation Inspectorate).
Winning teams were awarded cash prizes - MDL 50.000, MDL 30.000 and MDL 10.000.
All the solutions worked on can then be taken up by institutions for their digital transformation projects.
Teams have been guided by the best mentors in the industry, including experts from the e-Governance Agency (EGA), to tackle and solve real challenges presented by public institutions together, going through all stages of product development - from research to prototyping and testing.
UX4Gov Designathon was a first-of-its-kind hackathon event conceptualised to connect designers with public institutions to create user-centric solutions and improve public services. The event was held on April 26th - 28th, 2024 in Chisinau.
This event was held under the aegis of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova, supported by the design community Yatakviju and Technovator - Growing talent to innovate, in collaboration with ATIC, Tekwill, Moldova Innovation Technology Park, with the support of UNDP Moldova, Innovate Moldova, USAID Moldova, Embassy of Sweden in Chisinau, UK in Moldova - British Embassy Chisinau and Western NIS Enterprise Fund.
This event is part of Moldova’s digital transformation programme, aimed at developing a 100% digital society.
