E-GOVERNANCE SOLUTIONS TO SUPPORT DIGITALIZATION OF HEALTHCARE SECTOR
e-Governance Agency Director, Mr. Andrei Prisacar attended the second edition of the Digital Health Forum, held today, February 2nd, 2024, at Digital Park. The event brought together relevant actors in the field, such as medical and technology professionals, and representatives from private, public, academic, and start-ups, to address important topics such as:
- Health innovation using digital technologies;
- Collaboration with existing local and international products;
- Regulating digital health, attracting investment.
In the first panel “Challenges and Opportunities in Digitising Health”, Andrei Prisacar said: “We are currently developing a health module on the MCabinet Portal, which provides citizens with relevant information in this field. It is important to focus on interconnecting information systems and exchanging data efficiently, not on creating new costly systems. The healthcare system must ensure that data and information are exchanged securely and that patients benefit from quality healthcare and other related social services thanks to data exchange”.
Therewith, in his speech, the Director of the e-Governance Agency also referred to the new EVO mobile application, which will contain a dedicated health module that will give users quick access to the full range of personal information available in medical records.
During the Digital Health Forum, experts discussed topics related to trends, examples, and opportunities for the Republic of Moldova, innovation and economic growth, medical tourism, digital technologies, innovations that transform the way we practice and understand health, as well as artificial intelligence and how it can improve medical research in the Republic of Moldova. The integration of technology in medicine extends to areas such as telemedicine, medical robotics, big data analytics for disease predictability, diagnostics, and personalisation of therapies.
The event aims to create a framework for dialogue and debate between public, private, and development agencies on digitalization in healthcare to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with digitalization in healthcare and promote innovation and collaboration with technology start-ups.
Digital Health Forum 2024 is organized by Startup Moldova and Technovator with the support of the Future Technologies Project, funded by USAID, Sweden, and UKAid, “Tech Clusters powered by MITP” Programme; Partners: Medpark, Invitro, CorLab, Felicia Pharmacy, State University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
