DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AT LOCAL LEVEL
How to boost digital transformation at local level was debated during a workshop organized by the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) in cooperation with GIZ Moldova, the e-Governance Agency and Tekwill on October 4, 2023 in Balti town. The workshop included two sessions for invitees from public authorities, civil society, academia and the local business community and addressed the following topics:
- the role of local governments in digital transformation; the dialogue between the central and local level;
- promotion of digital solutions at local level;
- uptake of digital solutions by the private sector and their role in boosting business development;
- opportunities for strengthening the dialogue between the public authorities, private sector and civil society on the digital transformation of Moldova.
EGA Director Olga Tumuruc spoke to the participants about the importance of developing digital government services, in particular for the digital transformation of the local public administration, including the e-LPA Platform, while in the second part of the workshop, she explained how technology and digitization can facilitate business operations.
The event was attended by representatives of the Edinet municipality, Balti Territorial Office of the State Chancellery and partner organizations, such as “Policy Advisory Fund” and “e-Governance and Digitalization in EaP countries” projects, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Moldova; the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI) and Tekwill Balti.
