In light of today’s realities of accelerating digital transformation and increasing use of advanced technologies, it is critical that auditors are equipped with the appropriate skills and knowledge to be able to cope with the specific challenges of this digital era. About 50 members of the Association of Auditors and Audit Societies took part today, 29 June 2023, in a training organized as part of the Digital Nation campaign, carried out by the Electronic Governance Agency (EGA) between April and June 2023.

Financial institutions and organizations across all sectors of the economy have rapidly adopted digital platforms to improve their operational efficiency and customer experience and gain greater insight into their data. However, this transition has some associated risks related to data security and integrity and protection of user rights. Auditors must therefore be prepared to properly assess and monitor these crucial issues.

The initiative to train auditors in the use of digital platforms is primarily aimed at equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out audit assignments. The training was delivered by the EGA experts Ion Stratan, project manager, and Igor Arama, head of the Data Exchange and Interoperability Department, and was tailored to the specific needs and challenges faced by auditors.

We are glad that the participants in the training found those issues interesting and we are confident that they will make use of the acquired digital skills and knowledge while carrying out audit assignments.
