The Government's Action Plan for 2023 (PAG) relating to digital transformation was subject today, 19 January 2023, to public consultations with civil society, public and private ICT institutions and companies, relevant associations, development partners and other interested groups.

The consultations, organized at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization, Iurie Turcanu, jointly with the e-Governance Agency, aim at strengthening the field of digital transformation by consulting the public opinion and recommendations of specialists in this sector. The discussions were focused on the objectives and actions proposed in the PAG, to be implemented during 2023 and the priorities set for the next period, regarding the intensive application of technology and innovation in such key areas as: education, health, economy, administration, business, public services, etc.

Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization Iurie Turcanu said: “Digital transformation remains a firm chapter of the Government's Action Plan in 2023. We have a dedicated chapter, and digitalization-related actions are found in all sectors. In 2023, we will continue to develop innovative solutions, new digital systems and tools to ensure effective governance, modern electronic services and an advanced digital society that will bring us closer to the free and democratic states. That is why we need co-participation, so that we can all contribute and use the results.”

The medium-term strategic vision and development objectives relating to digitalization, proposed for implementation immediately and by the end of 2023, were mentioned in the presentation of Olga Tumuruc, Director of the e-Governance Agency. They refer to the following:

- Good governance (Digital data access solutions, Reconceptualization of state registers);

- Digital transformation (Modernization of public services; Digitalization of the public sector, e-LPA, extension of the network of Unified Service Provision Centres (CUPS), etc.);

- Priority sectoral actions (e-Health, e-Education, e-Justice);

- Medium-term reform actions (e-Democracy, e-Legislation, e-Petition, etc.).

The participants noted that the Plan was ambitious, mentioning that the proposals of the business community representatives were taken into account. Actions provided in the Plan also aim at facilitating the access of entrepreneurs who develop businesses remotely. Entrepreneurs expressed their interest in developing new digital tools. They also referred to the need to revise the relevant regulatory framework, digitization of cadastral services, health, telecommunications, e-Archive services or the inclusion of the Artificial Intelligence component in PAG.

At the same time, they mentioned the need to continue the cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Romania in order to create the common digital space, to strengthen cyber security and to implement common technological solutions that will contribute to a better integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European community.
