ASEM FINTECH HUB – A TRANSFORMATIONAL PROJECT
Thanks to the implementation of a new project titled ‘FinTech Hub’, the Moldovan FinTech Community will get new development opportunities. It is a component of the Tekwill Project and has been launched today, 12 April, within the premises of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova.
The event has gathered together Government officials, an E-Governance Agency delegation, representatives of Academia, ICT Associations, FinTech Community and Business Associations, and Development Partners as well.
At the start of the official opening ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalisation, Iurie Turcanu, mentioned that the development of digital technologies was a joint endeavour of the Government, private sector and Academia, the initiative being an example to this end. The official expressed his confidence that FinTech Hub should be successful in developing FinTech services and products, highlighting the public authorities’ full support and determination for such projects.
The event guests and participants enjoyed a guided tour though the FinTech premises intended for professionals: Co-working Area, Conference Area and Student Hub.
The Centre main goal is to boost the development of technologies in the financial area, secure the FinTech quality education and foster the creation of technology start-ups.
The action is the outcome of ASEM cooperation with the National Association of IT Companies under the Tekwill Project, implemented with the support provided by the United Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden.
