2022-01-31 14:54

Today, 31 January 2022, in an online event, My Community Program and first level public administration authorities of Singereii Noi, Carpineni, Soroca, Donduseni, Calarasi, Singera and Copceac inaugurated 7 Information and Service Centres for Citizens (CISC) in these localities.

The special guests at the event included Iurie Turcanu, Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization and Olga Tumuruc, Director of the e-Governance Agency, who congratulated the public and encouraged the partnership aimed at providing accessible and efficient public services for the people in the regions of the country and prioritizing their delivery in digital format through use of technology.

In his inauguration speech, Iurie Turcanu said: “Changing the way the authorities interact with citizens and provide public services at central or local level is our goal, and to achieve it, we need to join our efforts, to act together, to bring change, to get closer to the needs of the citizens, because no one can be left behind the technological progress and I refer here to public representatives of all levels, all categories of citizens, especially those who need more digital literacy. Together with my team, and I am referring here to the 3 institutions I coordinate, we will make every effort to bring innovation in public administration, to reduce the digital divide and to achieve this, we have concrete objectives, will and political support”.

The seven Citizen Information and Services Centres are designed to ensure fast, efficient and transparent access of citizens to the services provided by local authorities and will offer citizens the opportunity to apply for both social and commercial certificates, authorizations and permits by visiting a single service counter, arranged inside the building of the local authority.

Olga Tumuruc, director of the e-Governance Agency, emphasized the good cooperation existing between EGA and My Community Program, as well as the intense communication that the institution has with the local authorities in the country in order to modernize public services. "We have a great partnership with the My Community Program and we want to expand this partnership so as to bring innovation to local public authorities. While in previous years we focused on public services provided at the central level, it is time to bring innovation to the local level. We want to do this together with the My Community Program, with our development partners, to join our efforts and become efficient and effective. It is the beginning of a good partnership and we rely on its development, and EGA is open to bring added value in everything we do as a public administration authority”.

The centres were established under the My Community Program, with the support of USAID, SlovakAID and IREX, and the event was attended by Scott Hocklander, Head of USAID Moldova Mission, Maroš Kramár, Head of Development Cooperation, Embassy of the Republic of Slovakia in Moldova and Daniel Serban, director of the My Community Program.
