Vlad Manoil, Deputy Director of the e-Governance Agency (EGA), participated in the e-TAXON 21 International Conference, which brought together representatives of the national and regional community working in such sectors as taxation and accounting, business, public authorities, academia and science, as well as development partners, with the aim of ensuring communication and the exchange of experiences and knowledge.

As a special guest to the event, EGA’s Deputy Director spoke about the effects of the digitalization of public services, including in the tax system. "Our goal is to have an institutional activity that provides society with the necessary tools to have a minimal but elegant interaction with the state," the official said.

Vlad Manoil noted that EGA developed a number of projects and services such as MPay, MSign, MConnect, as well as the new service that will be available soon, MDelivery, designed to support the business community. According to him, a third of the services provided by the state at the counter can be eliminated without having a negative impact on the quality of governance. "Increasing the efficiency of both the state and the business sector if we talk about electronic reporting, can be achieved through data exchange tools, which greatly simplify this interaction", EGA’s Deputy Director added.

The participants also discussed the digitalization process as a tool facilitating the reorganization and streamlining of entrepreneurs’ activity, the tax policy and administration, the internal and external macroeconomic situation, the tax effects of non-residents' activity etc.

The second edition of the e-TAXON International Conference is organized by the American Chamber of Commerce of Moldova, in partnership with the Romanian Chamber of Tax Advisors and the American Chamber of Commerce of Romania. The event takes place on 16-17 September 2021, bringing together tax experts from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, the United States, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, Uganda, Poland, Australia and others.
