The "Cloud Computing M Cloud" solution implemented by the Government of the Republic of Moldova won the international "Best Cloud Project in Central & Eastern Europe."

The trophy was awarded to the Romanian company "Star Storage", the provider of the "M Cloud" solution phase 1, for the Moldovan government, in a competition organized in Vienna by the company "Hitachi", a world leader in storage solutions and services.

The event was attended by all the "Hitachi" partners in Central and Eastern Europe, over 30 major international companies.

"Star Storage"'s Director, Cătălin Paunescu, argues that the "Best Cloud project in Central & Eastern Europe" is a real source of pride for the company he runs. "This award equals international recognition of the innovative projects designed by "Star Storage" together with our partners, namely e-Government Center of the Republic of Moldova". According to Păunescu, the "M Cloud" has differentiated itself from the competition through its architectural concept, complexity and innovation and the use of cutting-edge components.

In July 2012, the e-Government Center signed a contract with "Star Storage" to implement the shared technology platform for the Government.
